METHOD FOR EVALUATING THE GRAVITY SEGREGATION OF A CONTINUOUS CASTING SLAB, WHICH CAN ACCURATELY AND RAPIDLY OBTAIN A GRAVITY SEGREGATION IMAGE OF THE SLAB

PURPOSE: A method for evaluating the gravity segregation of a continuous casting slab is provided to obtain coagulating structure and segregation image of high density about not only low-sulfur steel but also low-carbon steel.;CONSTITUTION: A method for evaluating the gravity segregation of a continuous casting slab comprises the following steps. Slab center segregation is viewed from an image. A slab sample is immersed in the etching liquid, composed of picric acid(C6H3N3O7), cupric chloride(CuCl2), sodium lauryl benzene sulfuric acid(C18H29SO3Na), and distilled water. After etching is completed, the slab sample is washed and dried. Silicone grease covers the dry slab sample surface. The silicone grease is washed off. The surface, on which the silicon grease covers, is polished. A transparent adhesion tape and paper is attached to and detached from the polished surface in sequence.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2011
