PURPOSE: A method for quantitation of membrane fouling using a fluorescent protein-expressing microorganism is provided to improve quantitation accuracy without a cofactor and substrate. CONSTITUTION: A method for quantitation of membrane fouling using a fluorescent protein-expressing microorganism comprises: a step of preparing a culture medium containing the microorganism; a step of culturing the microorganism by adding the culture medium into a membrane; a step of washing the membrane; and a step of measuring the number of the microorganism existing in the membrane. A fluorescent protein vector contains an antibiotics-resistant gene and fluorescent protein gene. The fluorescent protein is GFP, EGFP, EYFP, mCitrine, Venus, mECFP, Cerulean, EBFP, Azurite, DsRed, mOrange, mStrawberry, or mCherry. The microorganism is E. coli, Salmonella typhimurium, Salmonella enteritidis, Pseudomonas maltophilia, or Pseudomonas putida.
