摘要

PURPOSE: Metal matrix composite and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to expand an industrial application range by simultaneous realizing of excellent mechanical properties including high strength and toughness and enable nano size of carbon materials to be integrated into good quality of bulk materials in a hot processing process of powder. ;CONSTITUTION: A manufacturing method of metal matrix composite comprises following steps. Solid carbon materials are ground to a micrometer size. Metal matrix powder is plasticized and the ground carbon materials are dispersed into the metal matrix powder in a nanometer size. The composite powder of metal/carbon nano materials is integrated using a hot pressing process. Integrated bulk materials are heat-treated at a given temperature and form composite with metal-carbon nano-phases, metal-carbon nano-bands, or metal-carbon nano network structures. The metal-carbon nano-bands are formed by growing of the metal-carbon nano-phases and the metal-carbon nano network structures are formed by coupling of the nano-bands.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2011
