PURPOSE: Carbon steel granules and a carbide-coating method thereof are provided to apply to carbon steel powder, which is uniformly coated with carbide, a ball for a valve, a bearing, and a chain pin for which abrasion-resistance and corrosion-resistance are required, thereby reducing friction coefficient and noise, or improving lifetime.;CONSTITUTION: A carbide-coating method of carbon steel granules comprises: a step of rotating and heating a retort(10) surrounded by a furnace body(20) which has a heating part(22), and mutually reacting the carbon steel granules with raw materials for forming carbide which are inserted inside the retort; a step of separating and eliminating the furnace body from the outer circumference surface of the retort; and a step of rotating and cooling the retort. Carbon content of the carbon steel granules is in the range of 0.2 to 5 wt%. The carbon steel granules are carbon steel powder. The carbon steel granules are a steel ball, a bearing, a chain pin, a ball for a valve, a shot ball, a grit or cutting chips which comprise carbon steel. The raw materials for forming carbide include elements for forming carbide. The average diameter of the raw materials for forming carbide is smaller than the average diameter of the carbon steel granules. The raw materials for forming carbide includes at least one titanium(Ti) powder, titanium oxide(TiO2) powder, and ferro-titanium(Fe-Ti) powder.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2013
