PURPOSE: A traveling direction changeover device of construction equipment and a method thereof are provided to prevent an accident caused by disagreement between the operating direction of a traveling level and the traveling direction of construction equipment by automatically changing the operating direction of a traveling level and the traveling direction of construction equipment to be same all the time. ;CONSTITUTION: A traveling direction changeover device of construction equipment comprises a signal detection unit(201) detecting the intensity of magnetic force varying according to the upper rotation of construction equipment, a direction changeover unit(202) converting the traveling direction of construction equipment according to the intensity of magnetic force detected by the signal detection unit, and a traveling motor driving unit(203) driving a traveling motor(204) in the rotating direction corresponding to the traveling direction changed by the direction changeover unit.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2011
