The electrode has a porous sintered metal layer electrically connected with a metallic carrier (T). The porous sintered metal layer carries a sputtered electrically conductive graphite layer (C). The metallic carrier consists of titanium, copper, silver or precious metal alloy at a boundary surface (GS) of the sintered metal layer that is made of sintered bronze. The sinter metal layer and the carrier include parallel electrolyte channels in the boundary surface, where the channels are covered at a free graphite-sputtered side (F) by sintered metal. An independent claim is also included for a redox flow battery comprising an electrode.
