The card has an encrypted code, an activation system and a timer chip, where the card is self-activated by input of personal identification number and finger print. The timer chip temporally limits activation of the card. The timer chip performs code encryption during automatic deactivation, and the card allows secure access to medical data that are assigned to a card holder during presence of the card holder. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for activating a chip card (2) a method for secure coding of a chip card.
