The seat belt comprises a partially tube-like belt strap (1,1a) which is filled with gas by using a gas generator (2). The gas generator fills the belt strap at a vehicle-fixed filling station (3). The belt strap is filled through an injection point at a web section of the tubular belt strap portion. The injection point varies according to an extension length of the belt.
