The system (1) has a water separator (2) arranged in a gradient of a fuel pipe for separating water portions contained in fuel. The water separator includes an outlet (5) that is indirectly connected with an intake system of an internal combustion engine by an evaporator device (6). A valve (7) and an activated charcoal filter are arranged between the water separator and the evaporator device, where the water separator is a component of a fuel filter. Another valve is provided for discharging cleaned water into environment and for sucking scavenging air.
