The tester (1) has a frame (5) for inserting a blind rivet (3). The frame is provided with an insertion portion (6) which is arranged corresponding to an insertion portion (8) of a plate (7) arranged in the frame, so that the blind rivet is inserted into the frame and is supported by a support element (9) arranged in the frame. A pickup portion (17) provides a signal output (10), on reception of counter bearing power of rivet through the support element. An independent claim is included for operation method of tester.
