The motor vehicle cockpit (1) comprises an operating unit (4) for detecting user inputs. An outlet (5) of a climate control and ventilation unit (17) is arranged in the motor vehicle cockpit. A sensor unit (8) is provided for contactless detecting of an operating element (10) of a user (9) during an operation of the operating unit and for providing a detection signal in the motor vehicle cockpit.
