The system (1) has switchable cam followers (3) mounted on a support member (2) and coupling elements consisting of two separated components. The coupling element is moved in a direction above a hydraulic fluid. The components are provided with the fluid such that the components act as a pressure displaceable slide (4) in a pressure chamber (18) of the support member, where the slide acts on a switching valve (5) in the cam followers. The cam followers are made of thin metal sheets and comprised of a main lever (7) and a side lever (8) made of steel sheet.
