The trailer has a coupling device coupling a towing vehicle e.g. passenger car, to the trailer. A power supply is assigned to a steerable wheel hub motor. An electrical interconnection part is provided between the towing vehicle and the trailer. A wheel sensor is assigned to steerable wheels of the trailer to determine speed of rotation of the steerable wheels. A steering device adjusts a steering angle of the steerable wheels driven by the hub motor. A wheel axle is connected to the steerable wheels.
