The present invention relates to a method of synthesis of a hydrazine by reaction of the amine corresponding to the hydrazine with the acid, hydroxylamine - o -, comprising the following successive steps: (a) the reaction of an excess of the amine with the hydroxylamine - o - sulfonic acid in aqueous medium, so as to form the hydrazine and of the sulfate of amine, (b) neutralization of the sulfate of amine formed in step (a) by the addition of at least 2 molar equivalents of sodium hydroxide with respect to the quantity of acid, hydroxylamine - o - sulfonic used in step (a), leading to the formation of sodium sulfate, (c) the solubilization of the sodium sulphate formed in step (b), (d) separation of the reaction medium obtained following step (c) in an aqueous phase and in an organic phase and the recovery of the organic phase, and (e) isolation of the hydrazine of the organic phase obtained in the preceding step, optionally followed by a step of purification of the hydrazine.
