The device (1) has a case utilized for wrapping coins. Displacement units are designed to produce relative displacement of a coin roller (2) towards a breaking unit. The breaking unit carries out rupture in the case during displacement of the coin roller. The breaking unit comprises a body (8) for cutting and/or tearing of the case. The body is rotated around a rotation axis in a parallel direction of relative displacement of the roller. An independent claim is also included for a method for unpacking a coin roller.
