The method involves generating a vector of input parameters from continuous functions applied to a set of operating points to be tested. The vector is applied to global digital model defining values of output parameters of an engine based on the input parameters. Cartography model parameters are optimized from the input parameters against criteria and constraints, where the cartography model parameters are defined on all or part of the set of operating points. The generation step, the applying step and the optimization step are repeated for other operating points to be tested.
