The press has a punch movable towards a die (1). A surface (1a) of the die is provided with removable bodies (8, 14) i.e. connected blocks, to maintain a sheet blank (3) in position on a part of the surface of the die. The removable bodies are respectively engaged in a housing (6) of the die and a housing of the punch. An upper surface of the removable body engaged in the punch housing comprises hollows that receive projections (10, 11) provided in an upper surface (8a) of the other removable body.
