Synthetic turf comprises a support net on which polymer fibers are neatly attached in tufts and in which tufts are anchored to the underside of the fabric substrate with a coating, which comprises a latex and a filler, where the filler is calcium carbonate, and at least 10 vol.% of the filler has a particle size of greater than 100 mu m. Independent claims are included for: (1) coating having support net in which the tufts are anchored to the underside of the support net, where the coating: has a composition comprising a latex and a filler; comprises 100-500 parts of filler/100 dry parts of latex, and in which at least 30 vol.% of the filler has a particle size of greater than 100 mu m; and further comprises a coagulating agent and optionally a dispersant, an anti-foaming agent and/or an antioxidant; and (2) manufacturing a synthetic turf comprising anchoring fibers tufts in a support net using a coating, where the coating is applied in one or more layers, preferably in two layers.
