The method involves introducing a heating body (1) at an inner side of a barrel (2), where the heating body is in convex shape corresponding to that of internal volume of the barrel. The heating body is a hollow body consisting of two reversed truncated hollow cones (10). The heating body is arranged above a hearth (3) whose flames (30) rise in a chimney, where heat from the heating body heats an internal wall of the barrel. Height of the heating body is equal to height of the barrel. An independent claim is also included for a device for heating an internal wall of a barrel.
