The method involves cooling a mixture in a heat exchanger (3) and sending the mixture to a distillation column (4), where the mixture separates to form an overhead gas and bottom liquid. The liquid is pressurized by a pump (5), heated in the exchanger and vaporized in the exchanger or downstream of the exchanger to form a production gas. The overhead gas is heated in the exchanger and released in turbines (6, 7). A refrigeration part for a process is provided by a refrigerating circuit, where the refrigerating circuit circulates a mixed cooling agent to cool the exchanger. The mixed cooling agent is provided with two bodies that are selected from one of hydrocarbons, halogenocarbon, nitrogen, oxygen, argon, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide or hydrogen. An independent claim is also included for an apparatus for separation of a mixture with main components of carbon dioxide, comprising a heat exchanger.
