PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a market area setting device and a market area setting method capable of improving a level of user satisfaction by setting a market area which is fit into a display range of a map for each location of interest.;SOLUTION: A market area setting device 10 provides a user terminal 20 with a retrieval site. A user performs retrieval by accessing the retrieval site and inputting a query. Contents about a plurality of locations of interest retrieved with the designated query are displayed as a retrieval result to enable the user to click the location of interest to browse detail information thereon. The market area setting device 10 obtains a market area for each category and area to which the location of interest belongs based on a position of the clicked location of interest as well as the position of the user terminal 20 by obtaining click information when the user clicks and positional information on the user terminal 20.
