PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique by which a visual fatigue degree can be highly precisely and quantitatively detected although the visual fatigue degree can be qualitatively determined but can not be highly precisely detected up to now in the detector for detecting the visual fatigue degree.SOLUTION: The visual fatigue degree control device includes a pupil diameter measuring part measuring the temporal change of a pupil diameter using an optical technique, a pupil responding extracting part extracting the constant when the pupil contracts and the constant when the pupil expands based on the measured temporal change, a visual fatigue degree detecting part detecting the visual fatigue degree based on the extracted constant when the pupil contracts and the extracted constant when the pupil expands, and a display part displaying the detected visual fatigue degree in the screen, and further includes a pupil diameter measuring part obtaining the temporal change of the pupil diameter of an eye by the visual fatigue control device detecting the visual fatigue degree and controlling the visual fatigue source which is the generation source of the visual fatigue, a measured data analyzing part extracting the constant when the pupil contracts and the constant when the pupil expands from the temporal change, a detecting part detecting the visual fatigue degree, and the optical characteristic control section controlling the optical characteristic of the visual fatigue source based on the visual fatigue degree.
