PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor laser drive device which can detect deterioration in laser with high accuracy while avoiding increase in complexity, size and cost of an image control apparatus.;SOLUTION: A semiconductor laser device 7 for driving a semiconductor laser LD so as to obtain a desired light volume by controlling a current supplied to the semiconductor laser LD, comprises: a transistor Trld which serves as a semiconductor laser drive circuit for generating and supplying a driving current corresponding to an input control signal to the semiconductor laser LD; a semiconductor laser drive control circuit 11 and a transistor Tri which serve as a control circuit for controlling the current supplied to the semiconductor laser LD by performing operation control on the semiconductor laser drive circuit; and a successive approximation AD converter 20 which serves as a drive current detection circuit for detecting a current value of the driving current supplied to the semiconductor laser LD and generating and outputting a signal indicating the detected driving current value as a digital value.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
