PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a state evaluation method capable of quantitatively evaluating the state of a measuring target in a case for continuously monitoring the destructive behavior of a film, using an acoustic emission (AE) method, for example, in a high-temperature tensile test or a heat cycle oxidation test. PSOLUTION: In a method for evaluating the state of the measuring target using the AE wave, the measuring target 5 and a sensor are connected by a waveguide, and the AE wave is converted to an electric signal by sensors 1 and 2 to evaluate the state of the measuring target 5 by an analyzer 4; and in this case, the mu-factor of an amplifier 3 for amplifying the electrical signal is set corresponding to the temperature of the measuring target 5 in matching relation to the temperature dependence of the propagation attenuation ratio of the AE wave.
