PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head unit which eliminates an inconvenience of ink returning to a cartridge even if the user removes a recording head from a carriage, and has a compact carriage structure, and to provide a recording device with the head unit.;SOLUTION: The head unit comprises the recording head 11 for ejecting ink droplets to recording paper to record data thereon, and an ink feeding pipe 18 for feeding ink from the ink cartridge where the ink is stored to the recording head 11. The ink feeding pipe 18 has a valve 20 arranged therein, for blocking the ink remaining in the ink feeding pipe 18 so as not to return to the ink cartridge, when connection of the recording head 11 to the ink feeding pipe is canceled.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
