PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an organometallic complex of which the amount of adsorption and emission of gaseous methane is comparatively large.;SOLUTION: A [Cu2(pyridine-3,5-dicarboxylate)2]n, as an organometallic complex, is formed by binding one another a plurality of Cu2(pyridine-3,5-dicarboxylate)2 which is a repeating unit. A crystal system of a unit cell of the organometallic complex belongs to a hexagonal system. In the organometallic complex, there are a plurality of cavities (spaces) in which atoms are not tightly packed in a plane formed by an (a) axis and a (b) axis. The cavity has a shape of a hole with an aperture diameter and an inner diameter of several angstroms, and a Cu atom, an O atom, and an N atom are exposed on the inner surface thereof. The cavity functions as an adsorption site of gaseous methane.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
