PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position detection system and its method using a terminal having a GPS function.;SOLUTION: In the position detection system 10, a plurality of position posts 18, 20, 22, 24 and 26 for transmitting post data indicating its own information are arranged, a protege terminal 14 obtains its own position data by the GPS function, receives the post data from a nearby position post, and notifies terminal data based on the position data and post data to a server 28. Thus, even when the position data are not obtainable, the server 28 can detect a position of the terminal 14 on the basis of the post data.
