PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lid engaging mechanism of compact having a simple structure which allows the lid to fit easily and enables smooth pressing operation and restoration of an operating member at the time of lid opening.;SOLUTION: A compact comprises a case body, a lid body attached to the case body so as to freely open/shut and provided with an engaging piece at a specified position, and the lid engaging mechanism mounted on the case body. The lid engaging mechanism comprises a hook arranged on the case body; an engaging wall comprising a guide having an inclined face, and a guiding hole using a lower face of the guide as an engaging face; and the operating member comprising a pressing plate slidably mounted on the case body, and a bottom plate consecutively arranged from a lower end of the pressure plate. A flexible plate having a working piece attached on a tip is consecutively arranged on a back face of the pressing plate, and a resilient member for engaging with the engaging wall is arranged between the pressing plate and the engaging wall.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
