PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gold-deposited particle exhibiting low chemical resistance, excellent chemical stability and excellent abrasion resistance and keeping high reactivity stably in a method for producing carboxylate by reacting aldehyde with alcohol or alcohols in the presence of oxygen.;SOLUTION: The gold-deposited particle contains silica, Al, zirconia and an alkali metal and/or an alkaline-earth metal in a carrier wherein the atomic ratio of the alkali metal and/or the alkaline-earth metal to Al, that of Al to Si and that of Zr to Si satisfy the expressions: ((the alkali metal)+0.5x(alkaline-earth metal))/Al≥0.5, Al/Si=0.02-0.8 and Zr/Si=0.5-10.0, respectively.
