PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrostatic oil coating apparatus of a metal strip, which prevents the appearance defect of the metal strip caused by the adhesion of the drain accumulated by the lowering of oil coating efficiency or rise in viscosity due to a shortage in ionization efficiency of oil mist, to the metal strip; and to provide an electrostatic oil coating method of the metal strip.;SOLUTION: The electrostatic oil coating apparatus of the metal strip is constituted so as to apply ionized oil mist to the surface of the metal strip by applying voltage to the ionized oil mist and characterized in that the atmospheric temperature of the electrostatic oil coating apparatus is kept to 25-50°C by heating the feed air supplied to an ionizer for ionizing the oil mist by a heat exchanger to supply the feed air and the ionized oil mist to the electrostatic oil coating apparatus.
