PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manipulator for a stringed instrument capable of simply performing vibrato performance, and a stringed instrument performance robot using the manipulator. PSOLUTION: This manipulator is provided with a pressing member 21 for pressing a string 51 on a finger plate 52, a body 20 for holding the pressing member 21, an actuator 13 for a left hand for bringing the body 20 close to/away from the finger plate 52, a shaft 22 for supporting the pressing member 21 to be rotatable in relation to the body 20, and a torsion spring 26 provided between the body 20 and the pressing member 21 to energize the pressing member 21 in a direction for pressing the member 21 on the finger plate 52. The actuator 13 for the left hand brings the finger plate 52 close to/away from the body 20, and thereby the pressing member 21 is rotated to change a pressing position of the string direction.
