PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for manufacturing a long, curved member.;SOLUTION: A chuck 5 is provided on a die mounting stand 3 on which a die 2 for forming a curved shape is placed, and a tension chuck 51 is provided at the position other than that of the die mounting stand 3. A tension cylinder is provided to make the die mounting stand rotate, and further a first base stand tension cylinder and a second base stand tension cylinder are provided in order to three-dimensionally turn the die mounting stand. In this configuration, a work beginning portion q is brought into close contact with a curved die surface 22 while holding a straight door sash base material X by means of the tension chuck and the chuck arranged on the die mounting stand. Next, in this holding state, the die mounting stand is rotated about a preliminarily set rotation center, and further the die mounting stand is three-dimensionally turned about preliminarily set virtual turning centers.
