PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filtration technique which enables the reduction of the generated amount of a waste filtration medium.;SOLUTION: A helical cylinder 35 is obtained by winding wire having a triangular or a roughly triangular cross section in a form of a helix. A plurality of ribs 37 are made to protrude from the inner circumferential face 36 of the helical cylinder 35 toward its center axis 33. The neighboring ribs 37, 37 and the inner circumferential face 36 together can be made to form a dove-tail cross section. If the dove-tail cross section is filled with a filtration medium, the filtration medium becomes less likely to peel off. In addition, the stock solution being supplied and a cleaning liquid are flowed through the helical cylinder 35. Hence, the peeling-off of the filtration medium becomes unlikely upon its cleaning.
