PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for extracting an effective component from food waste, in which the effective component such as an amino acid can be extracted efficiently at high temperature under high pressure without wasting the effective component at target temperature.;SOLUTION: A food waste-housed special vessel 2 the upper part of which is opened is arranged in a high-temperature and high-pressure vessel 1 for generating steam by putting water therein and heating the water. Heaters 8a, 8b are fit to the high-temperature and high-pressure vessel 1. An extraction tube is connected to the bottom of the special vessel 2. A cooling unit, a collection flow rate regulating valve 14 and a pressure regulating valve 24 are arranged in the middle of the extraction tube. A collection vessel 7 for housing a liquid containing the effective component is arranged at the tip of the extraction tube.
