Comparison of extraction methods used for separation of active compounds from waste generated during the production of apple juice

Conventional and ecol. apple pomaces were extd. with 96% EtOH either in Soxhlet app., or under reflux or in an ultrasound-aided process to sep. ursolic acid. The ext. showed some antioxidant properties. The extn. in the Soxhlet app. was the most efficient.
