This invention relates to a PCR based method for identification of sex in jojoba by SCAR markers comprising the steps of, identification and confirmation of sex specific marker, elution of male specific fragment from agarose gel, reamplification of the eluted fragments, cloning and sequencing of sex specific fragment testing SCAR primers further in the individual samples belonging to the particular bulked genomic DNA of the male and female genotypes.
