The invention relates to a process for electrochemical regeneration of the oxidized iron plating electrolyte and can be used in electroplating industry for restoration of worn parts of machines and mechanisms.The process, according to the invention, comprises the selective electrochemical reduction of Fe(III) to Fe(II) by its treatment under flow conditions on volume-porous flow cathode, at the same time as volume-porous flow cathode is used foamed nickel of a thickness of 0.5…1.5 cm, pore size of 0.25…1.00 mm and specific surface of 1000…6000 m2/m3, with the inner surface of pores modified with nickel-rhenium alloy, applied by chemico-catalytic precipitation from a solution, the rhenium content in the alloy being of 10…12 mass %, and as anode is used titanium, plated with ruthenium dioxide. The process of selective electrochemical reduction of Fe(III) is carried out under electrolyte recirculation conditions with the flow velocity through the cathode of 1…2 L/m2·s and the specific cathode density of the direct current of 10…20 A/dm2.
