METHOD FOR SURGICAL TREATMENT OF GIANT POSTOPERATIVE AND RECURRENT VENTRAL HERNIA

A method for the surgical treatment of the giant postoperative and recurrent ventral hernia comprises the incision of the skin and subcutaneous fat, the separation of the hernial sac, the reconstruction of the defect with synthetic implant, and suturing of the surgical wound. Upon the treatment of the operation field, under endotracheal narcosis aponeurosis of the rectus muscle of abdomen with the hernial sac is separated following the oval incision with excision of the old postoperative cicatrice. The hernial sac is opened, the abdominal cavity is explored, the adhesions are separated from the hernial sac and the posterior layer of the aponeurosis of the rectus muscle of abdomen. The walls of the hernial sac and the cicatrical tissues with the margins of the intact tissues are excised without exposure of muscular-aponeurotic layer. The rectus muscle of abdomen is mobilized over its upper contour generating on both sides of the free edge of the anterior layer of muscular-aponeurotic junction. Finally, the drainage is installed into the subcutaneous fat for the active aspiration.
