Use of protein ASC as a marker for breast cancer

Method for the in vitro diagnosis of breast cancer, comprising the following steps: a) preparing a liquid sample obtained from an individual, b) contacting said sample with a specific binding agent for type protein stain ( "speck- like "), containing a recruitment domain associated cas passes (a SC), under conditions appropriate for formation of a complex between said binding agent and ASC, c conditions) correlating the amount of complex formed in (b) with breast cancer diagnosis, so that a high level of ASC compared with healthy controls is indicative of breast cancer.
