Disclosed are 1,4-disubstituted benzo-fused urea compounds of formula (I)(see formula II)wherein ring A is an optionally substituted fused saturated or unsaturatedringcontaining 3-5 carbon atoms, Ar is an optionally substituted heterocyclicgroup, Lis a linking group and Q is a substituted phenyl, pyridine, pyrimidine, etc.Thecompounds inhibit production of cytokines involved in inflammatory processesandare thus useful for treating diseases and pathological conditions involvinginflammation such as chronic inflammatory disease. Also disclosed areprocessesfor preparing these compounds and compositions, and pharmaceuticalcompositions comprising these compounds.
