The invention relates to an arrangement for reducing or preventing separationof a web from a supporting wire by providing a seal for a pocket spacebetween drying cylinders in a paper machine, wherein the space outside thepocket is sealed by a runnability component (6), which comprises at least asealing surface (19, 22) fastened to the runnability component by a hinge anda blow nozzle (21) provided with a nozzle slot (26) elongated in the crossdirection and 0.5-3.5 mm wide. The sealing surface is kept at a sealingdistance of 5-15 mm from the wire, and air is blown with the blow nozzle froma blow point (27) along the sealing surface towards a sealing point (16) andbeyond, away from the pocket space whereby the distance between the blowpoint and the sealing surface is 2 to 5 times the sealing distance.
