The present invention relates to an extract from pomegranate pulp having a high ellagic acid content, which increases the effects of the pomegranate extract for the treatment of female menopausal symptoms, anxiety disorder, depression, and attention deficit disorder. Also, the present invention relates to a method for further increasing the effects of pomegranate extract for the treatment of female menopausal symptoms, anxiety disorder, depression, and attention deficit disorder by increasing the content of ellagic acid.
