ELECTRONIC PROGRAM GUIDE SYSTEM AND FILE DOWNLOADING METHOD

An electronic program guide system, which includes a film vault and an electronic program guide(EPG) server, is provided in the invention. The film vault includes a server, and the server is set to provide index information to a downloading client, wherein, the index information is the information of the downloading client storing the file; the EPG server is set to send the command of downloading the file to the downloading client; the EPG server includes a downloading client, and the downloading client is set to receive the command sent from the EPG server and obtain the index information from the server, and download the file from another downloading client and/or film vault saving the file. With the invention, the pressure of the film vault is reduced.
