ANTICARIES DENTIFRICE COMPOSITION THAT INCLUDES ANTICARIES PROPOLIS AS AN ACTIVE PRINCIPLE

The invention relates to a novel dentifrice composition having anticaries properties, including a combination of propolis, methylparaben, and propylparaben as an active principle. Of these three components, propolis is the main component, the effect thereof being strengthened by smaller amounts of methylparaben and propylparaben, resulting in a composition having high anticaries activity without harmful side effects. Said active components are present in the following percentages relative to the total weight of the dentifrice composition: 2 to 10% of propolis; 0.01 to 0.30% of methylparaben; and 0.01 to 0.15% of propylparaben, wherein the dentifrice composition further includes a fluoride compound and supplementary ingredients typical of such a formulation, such as abrasives, humectants, foaming agents, thickeners, sweeteners, flavorings, and deionized water.
