The invention relates to intraoral radiological dental imaging sensors which are placed in the mouth of a patient, while an X-ray source is positioned outside the patient's cheek such as to emit X-rays in the direction of the sensor. According to the invention, the sensor comprises a light source (54) which is modulated by collected radiological imaging information in order to transmit said information optically. Preferably, the light source placed inside the patient's mouth is positioned facing an optical fibre (56) which extends from the mouth. In addition, a light diffuser (60) is placed at the end of the fibre for non-directional emission. A receiver collects the information and transmits same to an image-processing device, specifically in order for the image to be stored.
