The present invention relates to a device and a method for building a phrasal verb translation pattern using a parallel corpus, and more particularly, which can recognize a predicate and an argument using the results of sentence analysis and vocabulary alignment of a source sentence in a plurality of parallel corpuses, extract a translation pattern candidate and appearance frequency using the recognized predicate and the argument, generate a basic phrasal verb translation pattern by verifying the translation pattern candidate, and generalize same to generate a generalized phrasal verb translation pattern, thereby allowing application thereof to various language pairs, minimizing phrasal verb translation pattern errors, and determining the appropriate generalization level using the predicate of the phrasal verb translation pattern, a co-occurrence frequency of the argument, and the probability of translation of the predicate.
