VACCINE AGAINST AFRICAN SWINE FEVER VIRUS, BASED ON REPLICATION DEFICIENT RECOMBINANT VIRUSES

The invention relates to a series of recombinant African swine fever viruses (ASFV) characterised in that they are obtained from virulent strain BA71, in which the expression of gene pp220, pp62 or pB438L is repressed. When pp220 is repressed, gene TK is also deleted or gene CD2 optionally together with that of pol X. In the strains in which pp62 or pB438L is repressed, TK is deleted. The invention also relates to empty viral particles that are generated naturally following infection with replication deficient recombinant viruses and to the use thereof in a vaccine against African swine fever.
