The method involves switching the star contactor (K2) with electroless contacts and switching the net contactor (K1) with live contacts according to which the motor with the run-up period of approximately 80% of the rated speed, stopped at the time relay contact (15), starts to function. The star contactor and the net contactor are eliminated by the time relay contact and the delta contactor (K3) with electroless contacts is switched. The net contactor with live contacts is switched according to which the motor starts on its rated speed. An independent claim is included for star-delta protective switchgear of engine.
