PURPOSE: A real-time automatic spleen 3D division and a method for measuring volume using a diffusion weighted image are provided to accurately check a liver disease progress by accurately measuring the volume of a spleen using a diffusion weighted image which is obtained by a MR(Molecular Ruler).;CONSTITUTION: The volume data for a 3D diffusion weighted image with a spleen area is obtained by a MR(Molecular Ruler) technique(S110). Candidate areas for a spleen are detected from the volume data for the 3D diffusion weighted image(S120). A spleen area is divided from the candidate areas of the spleen through a 3D connecting component analysis method(S130). A noise area is removed through the 2D connecting component analysis of each slice(S140). The volume of the spleen area, from which the noise area is removed, is calculated (S150).;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
