Diagnosis method of meat quality using DNA marker associated with marbling score in Hanwoo

The present invention relates to a method for diagnosing the quality of Korean beef using DNA markers that are closely related to the marbling score of Korean cattle. The aim of this study is to provide a genetic diagnostic method that can be used to develop relevant molecular labels and improve the accuracy of early selection and individual evaluation of high quality Korean cattle. More specifically, the present invention is directed to PCR-RFLP (Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphism) technique using specific SNPs present in the 5'-UTR region of the Hanwoo EDG1 (endothelial differentiation G-protein coupled receptor 1) gene. By detecting DNA markers according to SNP genotypes for each Korean cattle, it provides a method of diagnosing and distinguishing individuals with GG genotype among Korean cattle with genetically superior intramuscular fat compared to individuals with AA and AG genotypes.
